See how much an EV could save you on fuel.
Enter your numbers below and the calculator estimates your annual fuel savings, five year savings, and how long an EV price premium takes to pay for itself. Every assumption is visible and editable, because honest math beats marketing math.

The payback search runs over a 10 year horizon. Maintenance savings are deliberately excluded from the math, so the fuel savings shown here are conservative. See the caveats below.

Before you decide
- This is an estimate, not a quote. Your real costs depend on local gas and electricity prices, your driving mix, and the specific cars you compare.
- Maintenance savings are not counted. EVs typically cost less to maintain (no oil changes, less brake wear), so your real total savings are often higher than the fuel-only number shown here.
- Public fast charging costs more. If most of your miles come from public chargers, set the home charging share low and watch the savings shrink or disappear.
- Rates vary a lot by place and plan. Time-of-use electricity plans, local gas taxes, and seasonal price swings can move both sides of the math.
- Battery degradation is small but real. Expect a few percent of range loss over many years, which slightly raises your per-mile electricity cost over time.
- This covers fuel only. Insurance, depreciation, and financing differ between cars and are not included here.
